Cecilia Barral Diego is consultant and our expert in international human rights law.
Cecilia is involved in the consultancy work of the firm, especially in developing assessment frameworks and corporate policies in line with international standards and setting up human rights due diligence processes for companies, including human rights impact assessments. She has been the project lead analyst for both German and international companies from different sectors. She is also involved in our think-tank work through the development of knowledge papers. In addition, she is our focal point on responsible finance and co vice-chair of Finance and Human Rights a.s.b.l.
She specialised in international law and human rights law (LLM) and has gained experience in different international settings, among which the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI) at the European Parliament in Brussels, the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) in London, the Human Rights Office of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Madrid and the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) in Washington D.C. She has worked on and researched a wide range of human rights issues, comprising different geographical areas.
